Primed Mango Mousse with Coconut Milk

Here is an easy Primed recipe that tastes great. I personally would only have a tablespoon seeing I wish to avoid the fruit sugars in the mango, but my children really enjoy this as a nice treat every now and then. It takes around 5 minutes to prepare and can last for a couple of days in the fridge. You could even put it in the freezer for a cooler version.

Ingredients

Mango Chia Pudding

Mangoes
Bananas (optional)
Coconut milk or cream (see here how you can DIY coconut milk)
Chia seeds
Crushed nuts (optional)

Mango Chia Pudding1

Method

1. Simply cut your mangoes into small chunks, add coconut milk and then chia seeds. Stir in then place into fridge.

Mango Chia Pudding2

2. There are no quantities as this is a dessert/snack for you to play around with seeing you can add more or less of any ingredient depending on your tastes and/or budget. Hence, less chia seeds if you are on a budget seeing they are relatively expensive. Use less mangoes if you have metabolic issues and are more intolerant to the sugars in fruit.

Trail Running Safety Tips

With trail running becoming more and more popular I wanted to share some tips to ensure you have fun and are safe during this spectacularly fun activity. No point getting some wonderful fresh air and then going to hospital with an injury. We will be competing at Tanay Rizal this Sunday starting at 5am.

Tanay Trail

Preparation is the Key – Pick the Right Race and Distance

It all starts with picking the right race and run category for you. My last race was a 21km trail where we were pre-warned by the organizers that “THIS IS TRAIL RUNNING! THIS IS EXTREME SPORT!” Indeed, it was so tough that only 23 out of 150 starters made it within the 7 hour cut-off time! I was very delighted to finish 2nd in that grueling race in a time just short of 6 hours.

Upper-body Strength

We all know that regular running is about your legs. Well, trail running is also about upper body strength so I recommend that you try some gym routines to build upper body strength. I love using my eccentric gym routines and this helped me on the trail as I climbed up and down the rocks, held onto vines and trees and even when I slipped and had to brace my fall.

Check-List

Make sure you arrive at the race venue prepared and bring the following:

(1) Gloves to save your hands from rock cuts, plants stings etc.;
(2) Head-lamp and/or flash light as the races start in the dark of morning;
(3) Home-made energy gel for your trail fuel;
(4) A good sized water bottle with your water bottle holder;
(5) Your cell phone just in case you get into trouble on the trail and need to ring a friend (have a bum bag with plastic zip lock bag if it is wet);
(6) Bring a hat because once the sun rises it can get very hot;
(7) A good breakfast like 3 boiled eggs or even a nice Omelette before the race;
(8) Some post-race snacks like bananas, nuts and even an iced coffee made with coconut milk;
(9) Some people use trail running poles but I think it depends on the trail and how many rock climbs are included.

I am delighted that the Primed for your Life Lifestyle is helping people improve their lives worldwide. The Primed posts are read in over 140 countries with Primed clients in countries such as Canada, Australia, UAE, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines and a host of others.

Here are the Top 5 articles this year with a special thanks to cardiologist and New York Times best selling author Dr. William Davis for sharing many articles on his Wheat Belly facebook page.

1. Wheat baby! The Painful Condition of Accidentally Eating Grains/Gluten Once Off It

Thanks also to my beautiful and talented tummy model.

Once you give up grains/wheat you CANNOT go back because once the “poison” is out of your system your body will react badly if this “poison” is reintroduced. This is surely proof positive that these grains are “poison” to your system.

2. Cheat in your Triathlon and you are cheating more than just yourself

Ronald is Primed and Loving It – His Family Too

Ronald rocks. He is a great family man with a big heart. I am so proud that the Primed Lifestyle is helping make this top man’s heart stronger. Oh, his brain too. Doubly proud that because of Ronald’s great decision his family is also getting healthier too.

I had a great lunch at The Wholesome Table with Trimac teammates Ron, Chloe and Emerson

We ate no bread but kept the butter to add into our food. Of course we had real food and not fake food like bread, pasta, noodles and other sugar cheap carbs.

Ronald Primed 5

Here is a 12 Point Summary of What Ron Said

1. Ron researched Primed LCHF after sustaining an injury training for triathlons because he wanted to ensure he would not gain excess weight. Ron had previously mistakenly believed that he had to exercise a lot to maintain a healthy weight but was soon to learn differently.

Here is some of the delicious real food Ron ate to lose weight and regain health.

2. Ron found his food to be very filling and satisfying. Hence, he was not hungry at all and ate less.

3. Ron’s Acid Reflux disappeared. Cool.

4. Ron lost weight despite not exercising at all.

5. Ron’s inspiration was his beautiful family. He is pictured here with his beautiful wife Romina. Ron started his Primed/LCHF journey in March 2015.

Top 3 Ways to Better Health (Means Better and Longer Life)

1. Get a Knowledgeable Coach Who Can Train and Motivate You

I make it my mission to help you achieve your goals.

I explain the why and teach you how. It becomes easy and fun to maintain the Primed Lifestyle.

2. Jump off The Sugar Roller Coaster (Grains = Sugar in your body)

Sugar coaster

A cool way to do this is by eating more eggs and green vegetables as this then crowds out the cheap carbage.

I teach you how sugar harms you. There is no doubt about it. The sugar spikes and crashes hurts your body and brain. It could also lead you to become overfed and undernourished which reduces your immune systems ability to fight illness.

Did you know that bread, pasta and noodles = sugar in your body?

3. Examine your Why?

I help you identify your goals, keep them in focus as we go through the many Primed Protocols that ensure you reach them. And then maintain them.

The Final Word

Here is my initial reply to asking if I could help Normandy, the other Brothers of De La Salle and the children in their care.

“We can. I am passionate about helping people (children in particular) about getting healthy so as to improve the quality and quantity of their lives. My program absolutely does that. If your brothers follow it and live the Primed Lifestyle your example will help others with both their mental and physical well being. The information is priceless as you cannot put a price on health, happiness and longevity. I want to help EVERYONE in the Philippines. They deserve to be happy and healthy.”

Primed Cabbage Carbonara

Here’s a great Primed Cabbage Carbonara dish involving 2 of my favorites: Bacon and Coconut Milk. You can easily substitute the chicken for the bacon or go vegetarian by adding roasted squash/pumpkin.

Ingredients:

Cabbage Carbonara9

1 large head of cabbage (take out the core)
lots of onions
lots of garlic (the more the merrier)
some green chilis
some red chilis (if you like extra spice in your life)
1/2 to full cup of coconut milk (depending upon how saucy you want your dish)
5 to 6 pieces of quality bacon (we buy ours from S&R)

Method:

1. Cut your cabbage into long strips. Dice your onions, garlic, green and red chilis.

2. Steam your cabbage until it is wilted but not too soft. Fry your pieces of bacon at the same time.

5 Ways Your Excessive Sporting Activities Could Harm You and Your Family

Is your pursuit of health hurting you and your family?

Are you spending lots of time away from your loved ones running and biking around in circles? Are you promoting cheap, processed carbs (sugar in your body) as a healthy way to “fuel” your excessive cardio? Are you chugging sugarade thinking it is good for you? If so, your children are watching and will probably copy your endeavor to be healthy that is more than likely not going to succeed in the long term.

Children

The reason it is likely to be a failed endeavor long term is that proper health starts in the kitchen with exercise just a mere 2% of the equation. The smartest and healthiest minds on the planet are echoing these words and many people have tried and failed at the exercise more, eat less (or eat more carbs) model.

Please remember the real benefit of exercise and do not try and use it as a means of controlling your weight:

Running safety tips 1

The reason for your exercise is many factorial and could include: for fun, fitness, building strength, relaxation, stress relief, camaraderie, sense of achievement or even a little “me time”. It should never be at the expense of your health, sleep or even your family. It should never be done in a poor environment.

5 Ways Your Excessive Exercise Could Be Harming Your Family (Besides Yourself)

1. Time:

Anything lost can be found again except for time wasted!

If you are training too often then it is at the expense of time you could have spent with your family, cooking, recovering, learning a new skill or doing something you really love doing. This is where true enjoyment of life and living comes from.

Time

You would be far better off spending time cooking and learning new recipes such as those in the cool cook book from Dr. William Davis of Wheat Belly fame.
