Primed Centrifuged Organic Virgin Coconut Oil Rocks Your Mind and Body

The buzz words in the Primed / LCHF community are ketosis, fat adapted and Virgin Coconut Oil. There is definitely no single product discussed more than VCO. It is synonymous with the healthy Lower Carbohydrate Higher Healthy Fat way of living.

The low fat era is over and was a error.

VCO has many fabulous uses with 7 discussed below.

7 Great Ways to Use Coconut Oil

1. Brush your Teeth and Oil Pulling

We use Primed Centrifuged Organic Virgin Coconut Oil for brushing our teeth and I also oil pull with it where you swirl it around your mouth. This pulls harmful bacteria, fungus and other organisms out of the mouth, teeth and gums.

Healthy Home, Healthy Family7

I have even run to my Primed clients whilst VCO pulling. I have to wave at friends as I obviously cannot say hi. The Philippines best MMA competitors are also going Primed and will soon be oil pulling too.

2. For your Skin

The Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCT) in Primed Centrifuged Organic Virgin Coconut Oil acts as a natural skin conditioner. Deeply penetrating and moisturizing, they protect against skin damage and helps with anti-aging. I often put some VCO on my skin before bed.

3. In your Primed Gel for Run Races or Triathlons

My Primed Home-Made Gel was my main source of fuel for my Malaysia Ironman in Langkawi which was key factor in my finishing strongly.

4. For Primed Dark Chocolate Crunch

See recipe for Primed Fruit and Nut Dark Chocolate Crunch.

We basically use VCO where we can because it is so good for you.

5. For Cooking Most Dishes

We use it for cooking our Primed Banana Pancakes with Coconut Flour and my delicious Primed Filipino Fried Rice.

VCO is the best oil for high heat cooking. Vegetable/Seed oils are heart attack and stroke inducing because they constrict your arteries immediately upon consuming. VCO is a stable oil at high temperatures and ideal for higher heat cooking.

It is also great for frying your Primed Omelette in.

6. Primed Pink Smoothie

We also include it in our smoothies like our Primed Pink Fruit Smoothie. I also love to add Malunggay into all my smoothies now for the added health benefits associated with the Miracle Tree.

Useful Food Hint Number #2: Malunggay thrives with a “Friend” & Music

Useful food prep hint #2:

Give your Malunggay company. When drying Malunggay leaves to make Malunggay Tea ensure you play it music occasionally (Malunggay prefers Aussie hip hop like this song called Forever Young).

In addition, ENSURE you have some company in the form of a plant, like a cactus, so it is happy and thrives so as to be even more nutritious for you.

Malunggay is the Miracle Tree and you will be stronger and smarter if you have some everyday. It rocks big time.

Malunggay benefits

Malunggay, sometimes called Moringa, has small, rounded leaves that are packed with an incredible amount of nutrition: protein, calcium, beta carotene, vitamin C, potassium… you name it, its got it.

No wonder it’s been used medicinally (and as a food source) for at least 4,000 years.

From a digestive standpoint, Malunggay is high in fiber that, as the Epoch Times put it, “works like a mop in your intestines… to clean up any of that extra grunge left over from a greasy diet.”

Gut health

Also noteworthy are its isothiocyanates, which have anti-bacterial properties that may help to rid your body of H. pylori, a bacteria implicated in gastritis, ulcers, and gastric cancer.

Join the Stand Up Desk Revolution and Live Longer (Hopefully!)

Leading a sedentary lifestyle and sitting down excessively is said to be as bad for your health as smoking. The simple message from a lot of health professionals is the longer you stand, the longer you live.

Be like Ironman Vic and try to incorporate more standing in your life. If you want to try this yourself, you might want to gradually ease into it as it takes a little getting used to.

Vic's Stand up desk

Vic said “I got mine from one of those Japanese Surplus shops. Lots of options to choose from based on your needs.
And easier to decide to cut the legs (if necessary) since its 2nd hand.  Also try Dona Soledad in Better Living Paranaque. They have a branch in Alabang, Zapote Road.”

5 Benefits of Using a Stand-Up Desk

(1) You live longer. A piece in the NY Times mentioned that sitting for extended periods of time is strongly linked with increased mortality and metabolic syndrome, regardless of how much exercise a sitter gets. It is estimated that people sit up to 12 hours a day during working hours, commuting, eating and watching tv. You cannot simply exercise away your sedentary work habit of sitting all day as your exercise will not undo the damage done by excessive sitting.

Primed Boiled Eggs – The Secret to Easily Peeled Perfect Eggs

Buy Organic Eggs from Cubao Farmer’s Market or Your Local Market

So, just find quality eggs at your local Farmer’s Market and buy them. Our household of 4 consumes around 6 dozen eggs per week. My cholesterol is most excellent too by-the-way. I eat a lot more eggs now compared to what I did in 2013 and my results have improved a lot since then.

Please see the following with my cholesterol results, some youtube information and further cholesterol explanation. Cholesterol letter.

Please see here from author, neurologist and 30 year clinician and scientific researcher Dr. David Perlmutter as to why Eggs are indeed healthy. It is called “Whole Eggs vs. Egg Whites. Which is Healthier?”

Malunggay “Miracle Tea” from the “Miracle Tree”

I am a big fan of malunggay. It is inexpensive, nutritious and tastes great in dishes like Omelette with Berries or Tomatoes, Vegetable Sheets Lasagne, Tuna Patties with Squash and in a Primed Fruit Smoothie.

Malunggay Tea_Primed_for_your_life

Malunggay should be known as the rich man’s vegetable due to the huge list of health benefits such as it can help reduce cholesterol and triglycerides, CONTROL BLOOD SUGAR, and offer anti-aging and anti-inflammatory substances, many of which have anti-cancer properties. No wonder the Moringa/Malunggay Tree is known as the Miracle Tree.

Well, as we know it is great in food but maybe even better as a tea. There is significantly higher nutritional value in the malunggay dried leaf, in some cases over ten times in specific nutrients when compared to fresh Malunggay leaf.

Malunggay tea is Primed1

It is very easy to dry out your malunggay leaves and make your Malunggay Tea. Simply pick your malunggay leaves off their stems and spread them over a large tray. We use our pizza trays. Let it dry out over 4 days. Occasionally stir it with a spoon so it dries out evenly. Talking lovingly to your malunggay leaves also adds to the nutrient density of your Malunggay Tea!

Malunggay tea is Primed2

After your 4 days you can then place in a very low heated oven for 10 minutes to get any remaining moisture out of the leaves. Then simply place in a sealed container and you are ready to start making your delicious and nutritious Malunggay Tea.

Malunggay tea is Primed3

Lets Make Malunggay Tea

Once you have your dried Malunggay leaves it is very easy to make tea.

Simply spoon a table spoon of your Malunggay leaves into a cup of hot water and allow to sit for 10 minutes. Once the color and nutrients have been absorbed into your water simply remove the leaves and sit back and enjoy your tea in the knowledge that it is helping your body in a plethora of ways.  A strainer also makes this process easier.

Malunggay Tea

Flavored Malunggay Tea

You can add additional flavor to your tea by squeezing in lemon or calamansi juice.  We freeze some lemons and oranges and grate in the fruit to our cup.

You can add a dash of honey to your plain Malunggay Tea or your Citrus enhanced Malunggay Tea.

Iced Malunggay Tea

Our family loves a nice cold Malunggay Iced Tea in the heat of the Philippines summer (11 months of the year) and simply make the above tea concoctions in larger quantities then add ice or place in the fridge to get cool.

Turmeric Honey Lemon Iced Tea

You can play around with many varieties of fruits and spices to create a Malunggay Iced Tea to suit your taste. I like to add a tea spoon of Turmeric, squeeze of Lemon and Dash of Honey to my jug of Malunggay Iced Tea.

Malunggay Tea with Turmeric and Honey

The health benefits of Turmeric include reducing inflammation in the body naturally. Turmeric can also be used a preventative measure against diseases like Alzheimer’s, Cancer and Arthritis as evidenced by what Dr. Andrew Weil shares below:

Reviewing some 700 studies, Duke concluded that turmeric appears to outperform many pharmaceuticals in its effects against several chronic, debilitating diseases, and does so with virtually no adverse side effects.

Danish Pickled Cucumber and Pickled Ginger Recipes – Good for Gut Health

Pickled vegetables like kimchi, cucumbers and ginger are probiotics that can aid the health of your stomach. They make for delicious snacks or additions to salads and side dishes to your main meal. Here are two of my favorite pickled dishes.

Primed Danish Pickled Cucumbers

I was born in Auckland New Zealand and was adopted to a couple living in Hong Kong when I was 1-month old. My new Dad was an Aussie and my Mum Danish. This is where I learned to appreciate many Danish dishes such as Frickadella, Red Cabbage and Risalamande.

I will start with one of the simplest Danish dishes from my childhood that is also one of the tastiest. Danish Pickled Cucumbers are a great side dish to chicken, pork and beef, goes well in a salad and is a nice snack with julienne carrots. I prefer it on top of our Primed Tuna and Squash Patties.

Just as an aside, I only found out I was adopted when I was 28 years old!
