5 Other Great Primed Cravings Busters

1. Primed Cheese and Tomato Omelette or Primed Kimchi Omelette

These beauties tastes great cold or you can just re-fry it in butter so as to soak extra quality fat into it. Yum. Remember, fat makes you skinny whilst low-fat and grains make you sick, hangry and stimulate your appetitie to eat more of these GMO non-foods. See how to make an omelette the French way here.

Are You on the Road to Type-2 Diabetes or Good Health?

A lot of people have type-2 diabetes or have been diagnosed as pre-diabetic. An inordinate number of people in the US, Australia, India, China, the Philippines and many other countries have this terrible condition and that number will increase drastically over the next decade. The condition is not passed on through genetics but is because of the way people eat and sleep.

Most current, conventional treatment involves Low Fat, High Carb recommendations PLUS drugs and more exercise.  Just one question.  How’s that working out for us?

Diabetes Mum

Here is how the current treatment is working in Australia:Within 5 years diabetes will be the biggest cause of death and illness in Australia.

Diabetic Australia

Australia is doing about as well as the US and the Philippines.

Not all. This is from my Mum: “Hey I’m no longer diabetic boys, it can be done, just lost 10 kg’s, cut down on the amount of food you eat, fasting one day a week, it works. Hey Sean call, miss you. Mother.”

Diabetes Cure Dr. Jason Fung

Fig Mediterranean Restaurant -A Must Try in Makati

Here is a very Primed friendly restaurant worth putting on your To DO list for early 2015.

Fig is a new Mediterranean restaurant along Kalayaan Avenue (near Howzat!) in Makati.

It was my pleasure to have a really nice lunch with triathlete Mikel Antunez last week where we both thoroughly enjoyed our food.

Fig Restaurant2

The ambiance is cozy, the restaurant is well lit with natural sunlight and there is an open kitchen where French Chef Patrice Martelly creates great dishes. Eventually they will also incorporate the 2nd level which will be ideal for private parties.

Primed Scotch Egg with Pickled Cucumber and Ginger on Squash “Rice”

I am always trying to come up with some new cool dishes for my children to enjoy for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Well, here is an item that is nutritious, inexpensive, tasty and good for any meal time. It is the traditional Scotch Egg where a layer of meat is wrapped around a boiled egg then pan fried.  Sounds good right?  It is a traditional British recipe that is making a comeback as people look more and more for real food items like their Grandparents used to eat.

How a Simple Lifestyle Change Helped Reduce my PCOS (PolyCystic Ovary Syndrome) Condition: A True Story

By: Mae Ilagan from WhenInManila

Early this month, I thought I was sick because of severe bleeding. I’ve been diagnosed with Polycystic ovaries (PCOS) for 10 yrs and despite taking hormone pills prescribed by my doctor to fix my imbalances, my condition never really improved. I gave up on my medications 4 years ago, I didn’t want to take any medicine for they were also expensive. And so for 4 yrs, I’d only have my period 3 times yearly….

My 1st period came March 2014 then the 2nd came around August… 2 weeks after I significantly reduced my white sugar and rice consumption (also no grains and no noodles) as advised by Primed for Your Life Wellness Coach, Chad Davis.

Then Sept 5 came, I noticed I started having blood discharges. I thought it would last for only a few days, but it never stopped til early Oct. By the 1st weekend of October, the blood flow became severe, that I had to go to the hospital as I thought my bleedings were caused by abnormal growths in my uterus since I never visited my doctor for years.

My OB performed an ultrasound and confirmed that I was actually having a normal period. She was so surprised because I never took any meds and because I had my period again only after a month. She confirmed that it was due to my lifestyle/diet change. She (my doctor) even gave me a go signal to continue on with whatever I was doing and even asked me what I did, so she can also advise her other patients who have PCOS to do what I did! The ultrasound results were very good! I have no cysts nor polyps or any abnormalities. Turns out I’m healthier than ever!

Since I lack exercise, my weight loss is very gradual. I almost gave up and wanted to eat rice again, but little did I know that my lifestyle change was doing major changes in my system! I’m so happy now and I feel much healthier as I never thought my imbalances would improve!

I really thank you, Ms. Cathy and the whole Nurture team because you and Chad Davis were the reasons behind my health success!

Thank you for teaching me how to eat well and for adding years to my life!

What’s for Lunch? The Primed Lunch Box Revealed

We all want to fuel ourselves and our loved ones OPTIMALLY for school or work.  Ideally we want to have high quality food and drinks to give us the energy so as to concentrate, learn, be creative and still maintain a positive mood.

In these hectic times it is not always easy to achieve this goal and we search for cheap and convenient ways to save ourselves time.  Unfortunately cheap and easy can have negative health consequences (obesity, heart disease, cancer, diabetes, hyper-tension, Alzheimer’s etc.) so it is important to plan and cook ahead of time.

Here are our typical Primed family lunch boxes that provide great fuel for our brains and bodies, fill us up very well, are tasty and don’t spike our blood sugars.

Primed Tanigue Kinilaw with Extra Vegetables and Avocado

Kinilaw (also known as Kalawin) is my favorite Primed Filipino dish to prepare and eat. It is a dish loaded with Omega 3, vitamins and minerals and is delicious by itself or served on avocado chunks, kangkong leaves and even wrapped in cabbage leaves. My fondest memories of enjoying this dish was way back in 2002 whilst watching the Football World Cup with Chef Cyrille at the InterContinetal Manila.

It is quite a simple dish to prepare as all you need are fresh ingredients and a sharp knife.

The Secret to Eating a 5-Course Dinner with Wine Without Getting Fat

It is definitely fun to walk into a beautiful and fancy restaurant. It is wonderful to chat to VIP guests and media personalities. It is one of life’s great joys to eat wonderfully prepared food paired with delicious wines. Nothing gets better than this!

That is until you wake the next morning and your stomach is bigger after all the fine food and wine you consumed. You feel a little guilty and maybe go to the gym and work out a bit longer than usual or skip breakfast. You can eat well without the guilt and then having to struggle into your pants or skirt the next morning.

Chad’s Primed Eggs Benedict 3-Ways

Like most people, I love Eggs Benedict. Traditionally Eggs Benedict is served on a toasted English muffin with ham, a poached egg and hollandasie sauce. To make it Primed I have a few other versions for you to try.

I will start with the hollandaise sauce as it is the trickiest part of the recipe but quite easy once you have tried doing it a few times.
