Primed Ukrainian Holubtsi – Cabbage Roll

We were so blessed to have had Baba Nadia help us with some wonderfully Primed Ukrainian dishes. I hope you enjoy this great cabbage roll dish called Holubtsi.

Ingredients:

Cabbage

1 whole cabbage
2 bay leaves
500 grams of mince beef or pork
1 onion chopped finely
1 carrot (grated)
cup of cauliflower rice
salt and pepper
coconut oil for frying
home-made tomato sauce (see below for method)

Method:

1. Cook your Tomato Sauce. The recipe is easy but takes around 40 minutes so prepare this first. Simply chop onions and garlic and fry in coconut oil. Then add your chopped tomatoes and cook for 40 minutes or so.

Primed Sardine, Anchovy, Kimchi and Sea Vegetable Muffin Duo

I love eggs, anchovies, sardines, kimchi, sea vegetables and green vegetables so I simply decided to combine all these ingredients for an easy to make dish suitable for breakfast, lunch, dinner and also makes for a healthy, satisfying snack.

Ingredients for both sets of Muffins:

Vegetable Muffin

20 eggs
jar of good Korean kimchi
roasted onions
roasted garlic
sardines in olive oil
anchovies in olive oil
Korean kelp (type of seaweed – can use nori sheets)
mixed green vegetables
turmeric
salt and pepper

That Paleo Show Podcast featured Primed for your Life

Dreams do come true. Ever since creating the Primed for your Life Lifestyle in late 2013/early 2014 I dreamed about being on That Paleo Show podcast. The reason is because That Paleo Show was instrumental in getting me from being a “fatish”, unhealthy triathlete/person into a healthier one.

I will be forever grateful for the passionate, real food advocates who enlightened me on how to optimally nourish my mind and body. It then inspired me to follow in their footsteps and share my knowledge so as to help even more people.

Wheat baby! The Painful Condition of Accidentally Eating Grains/Gluten Once Off It

The Primed Lifestyle is about eating real, nutritious food to optimally feed your body and brain. GMO, highly processed foods should not be part of a healthy lifestyle as they cause inflammation, spike blood sugars and insulin (those promoting early aging) and are addictive appetite stimulating “poison” that humans and many animals (such as your dog) are poorly adapted to digesting.

Once you give up grains/wheat you CANNOT go back because once the “poison” is out of your system your body will react badly if this “poison” is reintroduced. This is surely proof positive that these grains are “poison” to your system.

My wonderfully slim and fit Primed client’s wife accidentally had gluten in some Thai food and her normally tight and terrific tummy became 3 months “pregnant” with a “wheat baby”.

I personally got intense stomach cramps when I had just a tablespoon of cous cous. Never again.

160km Ultra Marathon on Olive Oil & Nuts – Well Done Primed Low Carb Champion Rose

Primed for your Life is what Rose Betonio is. Not only did she win her 160km ultra marathon on olive oil and nuts (no processed carbs at all) but Rose was fully recovered by the following day (except for sore lips) when her competitors were still sore and limping.

The best color skin for running is the one you are wearing.

Be happy, confident and proud of the skin you were born with.

Too many people want what they don’t have. A lot of white people want to be brown and brown people want to be white. Crazy stuff.

You are beautiful just as you are because true beauty is in your smile, your character, your confidence and your ability to love and receive love.

Love yourself.

You need to love yourself to love others.

Bring love and positivity into your life and say the following sentences to yourself daily: “I am happy.” “I am prosperous.” “I am healthy.”

Surround yourself with good fiends who are also positive and who have similarly healthy thoughts and habits.

Holiday excess! Two words we do not like at all. We all usually come home with excess baggage around our butts and waistlines from our holiday excesses. This is a usual occurrence after a great vacation where we return heavier than we left due to over-eating and drinking, and not getting enough exercise and/or sleep. Once you are leading your Primed Lifestyle it becomes easier to maintain as you will love the way you feel.

One of my favorite ways to stay motivated on a holiday is to bring a great healthy habits reading book like Wheat Belly from NY Times best seller Dr. William Davis and Keto Clarity from Mr Cool Jimmy Moore from Livin’ La Vida Low Carb Show.
