Danish Pickled Cucumber and Pickled Ginger Recipes – Good for Gut Health

Pickled vegetables like kimchi, cucumbers and ginger are probiotics that can aid the health of your stomach. They make for delicious snacks or additions to salads and side dishes to your main meal. Here are two of my favorite pickled dishes.

Primed Danish Pickled Cucumbers

I was born in Auckland New Zealand and was adopted to a couple living in Hong Kong when I was 1-month old. My new Dad was an Aussie and my Mum Danish. This is where I learned to appreciate many Danish dishes such as Frickadella, Red Cabbage and Risalamande.

I will start with one of the simplest Danish dishes from my childhood that is also one of the tastiest. Danish Pickled Cucumbers are a great side dish to chicken, pork and beef, goes well in a salad and is a nice snack with julienne carrots. I prefer it on top of our Primed Tuna and Squash Patties.

Just as an aside, I only found out I was adopted when I was 28 years old!

Malungay, the rich man’s vegetable!

Malunggay used to be known as the poor man’s vegetable in the Philippines. Maybe it is true with respect to material wealth, but those who eat a lot of malunggay are rich in health due to the myriad of health benefits derived from this abundant and wondrous small leaf.

The malunggay tree is known as the miracle tree for good reason. The leaves, stem and even roots have properties that have some of these benefits: anti-ageing, antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, anti-infectious, anti-bacterial, anti-cancer, increase sperm count and beauty/skin treatment among others.

Cocktails – Orgasm or Primed “O” Gel?

I used to love a good Orgasm cocktail. I still do as a matter of fact. As a bartender at University since I was a teenager I made many Orgasm cocktails. There are many different recipes but the traditional one has layers of Kahlua, Baileys and then Cointreau.

Cheap Eats That are Tasty and Healthy – Tuna and Vegetable Sheets Lasagne

It seems as though every meal we have these days includes rice, pasta, noodles or bread. These items are certainly convenient but do they provide you with the optimal nutrition your body needs to thrive and survive? They might be causing inflammation in your body, lethargy or headaches. A great quote I read recently said “Every time you eat or drink you are either fighting disease or feeding it.”

Here is a nutritious and delicious meal that can be then frozen or stored in the fridge for the rest of the week. It contains lots of Omega-3 from the tuna as well as a lot of tasty vegetables.

The Secret to Eating a 5-Course Dinner with Wine Without Getting Fat

It is definitely fun to walk into a beautiful and fancy restaurant. It is wonderful to chat to VIP guests and media personalities. It is one of life’s great joys to eat wonderfully prepared food paired with delicious wines. Nothing gets better than this!

That is until you wake the next morning and your stomach is bigger after all the fine food and wine you consumed. You feel a little guilty and maybe go to the gym and work out a bit longer than usual or skip breakfast. You can eat well without the guilt and then having to struggle into your pants or skirt the next morning.
