10 Ways on How to Beat Your Bad “Food” Temptations for a Healthier Life

How To Avoid the Temptation of Bad “Food” Like Substances

Adam had a hard time saying no to Eve’s apple. Imagine if she offered a doughnut? The battle would be declared no contest as the sight, smell and allure of a doughnut can be too great to resist.

Well, no.

Once you know that a doughnut is not food, know the DISGUSTING ingredients that comprise this food like substance and fully appreciate that with each greasy bite you are harming your body and your brain and that your life expectancy is reduced you will say no to eating the doughnut.

Over-fed and under-nourished89

Or just keep eating it and perhaps join the other obese, diabetic, hypertensive and ill people that are growing in epidemic numbers.

Is it still worth it?

Why do you still eat it even though you know the vegetable oils could give you a heart attack, the chemicals and other harmful ingredients hurt you and that it will make you fat, sick and ultimately not happy?

Because:

(1) Of your sugar addiction (if you can kick the sugar it is easier to give up your other addictions);

(2) It is right there in front of you calling out “Eat me, eat me”;

(3) Someone bought it for you (are they doing you a favor?);

(4) You actually are ignorant of the harmful affects it does to you; and/or

(5) You actually don’t care how you look, feel and simply live for the moment regardless of the negative consequences.

Here are some tactics to fight the evil doughnut monster (and other bad processed “foods”):

(1) Write down how bad it makes you feel. Write out the note and keep it in your pocket and read it daily;

50km in 3 hours 57 with No Carbs – Yes, it’s Possible! Meet Primed Ultra Marathon Champion Andy Pope

Written by Ultra Marathon Running Champ Andy Pope

“Age 45… 50km on no carbs… in 3hrs 57… 1st place

Really? Yes, really.

Andy and Jeff Suazo

A Primed/Lower Carb, Higher Healthy Fat (LCHF) lifestyle will probably make you a stronger runner. One thing is a certainty though, it will make you a healthier runner. It is not a magic cure or a fast track to the podium – I should add to the title that I train five or six times a week and have been running and racing a long while; Primed/LCHF is a part of the formula and illustrates what is possible. Running and racing are an individual journey and if you transition to a Primed lifestyle this will become a part of your journey. Yes – lifestyle – not “diet”; the vast majority of traditional “diets” fail. Diets imply short term, largely unenjoyable ways to lose weight. The Primed focus is long term health, a permanent change – Weight loss, increased energy levels and how you feel will all take care of themselves in time.

You will have to throw out some traditional thinking along with pasta and rice when you start the journey. You are possibly used to running/exercise to control weight, or at least that is what you think you are doing. You will now eat (more) to control weight and health and run to de-stress, train for a race or just get outside… but calorie counting is out along with carbs and sugar.

Carbs are DEFINITELY NOT the ONLY source of energy for the brain or body

I just read in a magazine here that “Carbs are the ONLY source of energy for the brain.” Too SAD. SAD of course is the acronym for Standard American Diet that many believe has led us to a worldwide epidemic of obesity, diabetes and heart disease to name but a few ailments.

The above statement is absolutely incorrect and reflective of the ignorance and misinformation that has led most people down the path of ill health.

It is definitely and absolutely a myth that the brains preferred fuel source is glucose and can only run on glucose. This myth is usually perpetuated by people selling sweet carbo laden, diabetes prompting, food like products, such as the totally unnecessary gels and sports drinks, consumed by too many too often.

Dr Eric Westman (one of the worlds leading doctors) asserts that “Your brain can make glucose itself and your brain can actually run on keytones. The key biochemistry and physiology reality is that the body, liver and kidneys can make glucose without eating any carbohydrates at all.

Carbohydrates are not an essential nutrient.”

Dr. Eric further asserts “Carbohydrtaes are not an essential nutrient and your body can make all the carbohydrates/glucose it needs internally.” Examples include many tribes such as the Inuit in the arctic, arctic explorers and many, many athletes now switching to this preferred fuel source of their body and brain.

Le Bron & Kobe Would Never Have Fries With That

People Who Would Never Touch Fries (I am making an educated guess)

LeBron, Kobe and Novak Djokovic know that fries cooked in vegetable oil can be deadly seeing they immediately constrict your arteries upon eating them. They all follow the Primed/LCHF way of eating real food.

Similarly, celebrities like Jessica Biel, Megan Fox, Matthew McConaughey, Miley Cyrus and Gwyneth Paltrow want to maintain a healthy mind and body so they too would avoid anything cooked in vegetable oil seeing it is but a molecule away from being plastic!

Why Are So Many People Adopting a Primed Lifestyle?

I am ecstatic with the number of people worldwide who are adopting a healthier, Primed lifestyle.

In India, America, Australia and the Philippines, to name just a few countries, so many people are going Primed, and experiencing wonderful benefits for their health, family and life in general.

image

After adopting a Primed Lifestyle they become healthier. This then helps them become happier. Their sleep improves, their ailments become less, they get more energy, more mental clarity and they realize it is best to eat to live, rather than live to eat!

Here are 5 Reasons Why People are Adopting a Primed Lifestyle

1. You Eat Better Food

The Primed Lifestyle is simple. You eat higher quality food (not more expensive necessarily) so as to feed your mind and body optimally.

I gladly train you, your family and staff on how to cook nutritious and delicious food as part of my Wellness Coaching. Be warned though, once you start eating properly it is impossible to go back to eating the low quality stuff!

What have been your good deeds whilst running?

Ok, here is a slightly off-beat post on the benefits of running.

Yesterday I was having a nice chilly run in Geneve, Switzerland, when it started raining slightly. I love it when it rains as the run becomes more fun. However, the roads become wet and I noticed a motor cyclist fall off her bike on a slippery portion of the road whilst turning.

As soon as I saw her fall I sprung to action, helped her up, put her bike on its stand and got her a chair. I then helped calm her down and ensured she would be alright. Luckily she was ok with just dented pride and torn pants.

I am glad I am very observant whilst I run and got to help the fallen Swiss cyclist.

This got me thinking of the other times I have done good deeds whilst out running. I’ll share mine here in the hope you can also comment and share yours. After all, we runners are nice and caring people. Right?

“Primed” LCHF Aussie Cricketers on Top of the World

Congratulations to the Australian Cricket Team becoming the Champion One-Day Team in the World.

They did it with a large number of the team following the great advise of Dr. Peter Brukner who is a “Primed” Low Carb High Fat (LCHF) advocate for optimal sporting performance.

This is but the tip of the iceberg with many more individuals and teams already adopting, or going, Primed LCHF (including some major soccer teams).

High Fat and Low Carb (LCHF) for Better Performance – For your Sport, Work and Life

Cheap processed carbs can be extremely harmful for your body by increasing inflammation among other problems but complex carbohydrates are an excellent source of nutrition and fiber.

Saturated fats are an ideal fuel for your mind and body.  Remember, your brain is 60% fat and mother’s milk is 50% fat. When you become a LCHF fat burner you have access to approximately 40,000 calories for energy compared with your sugar burning buddies (around 2,000).
