Hey Cheaters, stop it! How Can We Stop Them From Cheating?

The triathlon season is upon us and I have already seen people cheating (swimming inside the designated swimming ropes) and throwing their rubbish in a protected forest! Have you seen any one cheating yet? How can we stop them?

I am re-posting our most popular article ever in the hope race directors, coaches, triathlon teams and everyone involved in our sport act within the spirit of good competition. Know the rules and act accordingly within the spirit of fair competition.

No cheating zone

I love competing at triathlon and running events. It is cool to test yourself against your previous years results and against your competitors in your age category.

The reason to SIGN UP for races vary from individual but include:

– Getting a nice medal; getting the nice finisher’s shirt; having fun; getting fitter; beating your friends and rivals to the finish line; being part of your triathlon team; having something fun to post on facebook; setting a positive example to your fiends; and for the love of exercising in the sun.

There are some people who want to do well so badly that they are prepared to go outside of the rules to get onto the podium or even to just get a personal best.

Going outside the rules means cheating and should not be tolerated in our fun sport. We need more vigilance on behalf of the competitors, spectators and race organizers.

Thanks Multi Sport Magazine for featuring Chad and Natasha in By The Numbers

It is wonderful to join the illustrious company of the Ramirez brothers and Raul Concepcion aka RunningShield and be featured in Multisport magazines By the Numbers segment.  Please see Multi Sport Philippines Magazines facebook page here and their Multi Sport Philippines Magazine website here.  Of course you can collect your own hard copy from all the leading sports stores throughout the Philippines.

We love Raul Concepcion aka RunningShield for many reasons but not least because he organized the hugely successful Condura Skyway Run for a Hero race last February 1st.  My race report is here where I ran my Philippines personal best of 3:30:01 after biking 91km that morning.

Condura Skyway Race Report: Stronger, Faster, Younger, Primed.

The gun shot at midnight to herald the start of the Condura Skyway marathon had extra significance for all of the 5000 plus marathon runners that morning. The gun shot was symbolic of the loss of the 44 Fallen PNP-SAF members. They are heroes who died for freedom and peace. May you all Rest in Peace and your families gain strength from your sacrifice. We all salute and respect you.

Running for a Cause – Congratulations Raul Concepcion aka RunningShield

Thanks to the vision and integrity of Raul Concepcion we had an event to honor our heroes. The fallen 44 and the current serving and retired armed forces were at the forefront of our minds and hearts.

Condura Joey

Like the thousands of others I ran with a heavy heart as I thought of them. I also reflected on my other heroes and was thinking of my Dad, my hero, Charles Davis. He adopted and adored my brother and I and was a great man. I ran that morning wearing his ring. It was quite prophetic that at the 28km mark I was joined by a guy called Charles, the only person whom I ran with for a few kilometers as he kept my steady pace of 4:58 for the entire marathon.  I took it as symbolic that my Dad was with me for the race and I knew in my heart that I would finish the race strongly.

6 Days Till Christmas – Ditch One Bad Habit

6. Ditch One Bad Habit before New Years Eve

I have a friend who used to be addicted to sex, drugs, alcohol and more. He is clean and fit now but we all have some habits that prevent us from being truly happy or healthy.

News flash. From November 8th 2014 I have given up ALL ALCOHOL.

Why Did Chad Give Up All BOOZE From November 8th 2015 Until September 28th 2018?

I have done it for my family, my wellness clients and most importantly for myself.

Primed Christmas Cake

Primed Christmas Cake

Christmas Cake is a tradition in many countries but the store bought one can often have an ingredients list as long as your arm. That would be fine if they were all Primed, quality foods that fueled your mind and body well.

Unfortunately these days food like substance manufacturers include substances to do the following:

(1) Enhance the shelf life of the product (means many added chemicals and other nasty substances);
(2) Try and get you addicted to their product (by adding sugar where it is not necessary is a classic ploy to dupe consumers);
(3) Try and stimulate your appetite so you eat more by including gluten where it is not necessary. Then you eat more of their product; and
(4) Make the product as cheaply as possible so they will use whichever supplier gives them the least price with no regard to how these products are farmed.

Bottom-line is that if you chose to buy any packaged goods you should check the ingredients list and avoid when you see MSG, gluten, sugar, fructose and any ingredients of which you do not know. Compare this to fruits and vegetables which do not need an ingredient list!

Please see our Primed Christmas Pudding made with only Primed ingredients so you will not inadvertently harm yourself or your family with nasty chemicals and other food like substances.

Ingredients:

Christmas Pudding1

zest and juice of one orange and one lemon (we zest from our frozen peels as shown below)
2 cup raisins
1 cup dried apricots
15 dried prunes
4 ripe bananas

1 cup crushed walnuts
1 cups almond meal
1 and 1/2 cups of coconut flour (please click here to see how cheap and easy it is to do yourself)

6 eggs

1 cup red wine

2 teaspoons all spice mix
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon concentrated natural vanilla extract
salt pinch

Christmas Pudding3

Method:

1. Soak all these ingredients in your red wine over night: zest and juice of one orange and one lemon, 2 cup raisins, 1 cup dried apricots and 15 dried prunes

2. After soaking your ingredients in your red wine over night transfer to a pot and bring to boil quickly before turning heat down and allowing to simmer for 8 minutes remembering to stir occasionally. Then set aside and allow to cool down.

3. Mash your bananas and then whisk in your eggs. Then add your spices to this mixture and stir in.

4. Add your stewed fruits into your egg, banana and spice mix.

5. Now add your coconut and almond flour as well as your crushed walnuts.

6. Grease a cake tin (or individual muffin trays) liberally with butter.

7. Set your oven to 350 degrees and once that temperature is reached place in your baking tray once all your combined ingredients have been lovingly placed inside.

8. Allow to cook for 20 minutes.

9. After 30 minutes remove from oven and once cooled remove from tin or muffin tray.

10. Serve with a nice heavy whipped cream (never the chemical laden light/lite one).

8 Days Till Christmas – Forgive

8. Forgive

The Wise Dalai Lama said it best with “If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion.”

“I’ve learned that no matter how good a friend someone is, they’re going to hurt you every once in awhile and you must forgive them for that.” – Friedrich Nietzsche
